This term we have visited an Exhibition at La Misericordia, “La mirada del Viatger”, where you could see sterographs of Mallorca. Now you have the chance to compare them with sterographs taken by a French photographer. Some of the photos were taken in the same period, but the landscapes, the people and the atmosphere are very different.

During the visit to the exhibition. Use the space provided in this dossier to take notes and complete the information required.

“la mirada del viatger”

La mostra “la mirada del viatger” recull un conjunt de fotografies de Mallorca, Menorca i Eivissa de principis del segle XX dels fons fotogràfics de la Biblioteca de Catalunya. L’exposició reflecteix la mirada de set autors diferents, Leandre Cervera, Guillem Bestard, Juli Soler, Francesc Matheu, Frederic Mompou, Josep Salvany i Joan Nonell, que influenciats per l’anomenat “excursionisme científic” van captar amb la seva càmera la gent i els paisatges de les Balears.

Nowadays, thanks to technological develpment, you are used to very sophisticated special effects: colour, movement, tridimensional vision. Just think of the film Avatar. A hundred years ago things were different. Put the special glasses you are given at the exhibition and look at the slide show displayed at the back of the chapel.
